The Philippine National Police (PNP) is on high alert after the launch of Task Force ‘Panunumpa’ 2016 which targets to fully secure the separate inauguration ceremony of President –elect Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President-elect Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo set today.
PNP Spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor said that while Presidential Security Group (PSG) will be in charge of the security in Malacañang, PNP will take lead in ensuring safe, peaceful and orderly conduct of the President and Vice President Inauguration rites.
The task force, which was launched Wednesday, will be headed by PNP chief directorial staff Deputy Director General Francisco A. Uyami Jr. PNP-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) will also serve as security escorts of VIPs attending the two separate events.

“Tomorrow (Thursday) will be inauguration and as part of the security procedures will be implemented by the PNP Task Force Panunumpa shall ensure safe peaceful and orderly conduct of the President and Vice President with support of AFP and non-government agencies,” Mayor said in a press briefing.
According to incoming Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Chief Martin Andanar, Duterte’s inauguration will run from 10:30am to around 3pm at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace. The event is expected to be attended by some 600 guests.
Robredo, on the other hand, will take her oath of office in Quezon City Reception House, from 9am to 10:30am with around 300 guests expected to grace the event, most of whom are people from the marginalized sectors. The venue, formerly known as the Boracay Mansion, will also serve as the outgoing Camarines Sur representative’s official residence in her term as the 14 Vice-president.

“We can assure the public we have been implementing proactive measures for the past days and for the task force panunumpa, avsegroup has declared heightened alert in their personnel especially in convergence areas will be safe and secure,” Mayor said.
Robredo will be sworn in by two barangay captains, Regina Celeste San Miguel of Barangay Mariana in Quezon City and Rolando Coner of Barangay Punta Tarawal in Camarines Sur.
Both events are expected to be simple with simple food to be served to guests. -MR, Kami Media
