Duterte visits wake of netizen's grandmother

- President-elect Duterte will have his inauguration tomorrow, June 30

- Before his flight to Manila, Duterte went to visit the wake of a netizen’s grandmother

- The wake happened to be just beside the wake of the incoming health secretary’s father

A netizen, who was once adamant on his belief regarding the incoming president and now an admitted admirer, went from “boo” to “woo” when President-elect Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte paid the netizen’s late grandmother a visit during her wake despite the fact that Duterte will fly to Manila tonight for his oath-taking tomorrow.

Photos of the long-time Davao City Mayor went viral when a user Elades uploaded them on Reddit, a social media site.

“Anyway, I’m a cynic in regards to anything Duterte. But 2 days before his inauguration he finds the time to visit my lola and give her some obligatory flowers. I get why people love him so much. Especially here in Davao,” Elades said.

Elades also mentioned that he shook hands with Duterte, who at first impression, seemed down to earth.

The wake of Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial’s father was also at the Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapels, beside the wake of the granny. Ubial is the incoming secretary of the Department of Health.

Last month, after winning the elections, Duterte also visited the grave of his parents, Vicente and Soleng Duterte. As he cries his heart out, netizens saw the vulnerable part of the iron-fisted lawyer.

“Our President cried! Our presumptive President Rodrigo Roa Duterte cried like a child at his parents’ graveyard. He asked his parents to continue guiding as he will soon lead the country. He cannot believe he will be the next President!,” said Edith Caduaya.
