To all K-Pop fans! Here’s some good news! Sandara Park is coming back to the Philippines! And it’s not only for a short vacation; she’s returning to ABS-CBN to judge Pinoy Boyband Superstar with Vice Ganda and Yeng Constantino.
Dara, as the Korean pop star is now known as, will return to Philippine television really soon. The 2NE1 member is set to be a judge for ABS-CBN’s new talent search called, Pinoy Boyband Superstar. We found out through a video uploaded on Instagram by Star Creatives’ AdProm Manager, Mico del Rosario on June 27. It teased of her upcoming project in the Philippines.
In the video, Dara was saying, “This is going to be exciting. See you, Kapamilya! Mahal ko kayo!”
This was backed by Star Cinema’s AdProm director, Roxy Liquigan when she was seen tweeting, “Sandara will be back!” with the hashtag: #PinoyBoybandSuperstar ending her short tweet. This confirmed the comeback of the 31-year old K-pop star.
The airing date of the talent show is yet to be announced, however.
Dara’s last visit to the Philippines was for her endorsement deal with one local clothing brand back in April of this year.
In an earlier interview, Dara had mentioned her desire to collaborate with Vice Ganda. In her excitement, she later told the press, “A, gusto ko si Vice Ganda,” and added, “Gusto ko gumawa kami ng comedy movie, di ba? Bagay kami! Krung-krung din siya, e.”
(I like Vice Ganda. I want to make a comedy movie with him, right? We’re good together! He’s also silly.)
Dara also expressed her willingness to judge a talent search show since that’s how she was able to launch her showbiz career. She was discovered on the show, Star Circle Quest, wherein she emerged as runner-up back in 2004.
As of now, Dara is anticipating the release of her latest movie, One Step, to be shown in September. She is also preparing for the comeback of 2NE1 to the K-Pop scene.
