In Samutprakarn, Thailand, a man went home on a Sunday to find a gigantic monster monitor lizard clinging to the front door of his house. He decided to take a video of the scary encounter with the giant reptile and then posted it later on Facebook where it became a viral sensation.

The viral video shows an enormous monitor lizard the size of an adult man, its tail wagging and very excited to enter the house of Attanai Thaiyuanwong.

A man in the video can also be seen trying to capture the animal by using a lasso but to no effect. Many commenters said that the man probably watched too many Indiana Jones movies before trying to capture the animal.

A woman off-camera also gave a “logical” advice on how to get rid of the reptile: “They say if you throw a coin at it, it will go away! It’s like giving the lizard luck and fortune!”

According to Attanai, the giant lizard is actually a frequent visitor in his house. The reptile has been named “Selena” by the residents of the house because Selena Gomez is the favorite celebrity of Thaiyuanwong’s sister.

It is still unclear why the lizard wanted to enter the house, but some commenters pointed out that the reptile might be interested in meeting the small barking dog inside.

Whether the giant lizard wanted to meet the dog to make friends or to eat it is still unclear, but we bet that the latter is the right answer.

However, the house owner has a deeper explanation for Selena’s odd behavior.

"Humans have invaded the animals’ habitats so now they don't know where to go. Not having a home is sad enough, and humans still try to get rid of them. Let’s say we can all live together as long as we don’t hurt one another," Attanai explained.

According to Attanai, the lizard was taken safely back into the forest. But do not be surprised if “Selena” comes back in the future. – DN, Kami Media
