ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez has finished her Master’s degree in journalism and her husband Manuel “Mar” Roxas attended her graduation rites on Sunday, June 26, at the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU).
Sanchez wore a royal blue toga over her simple black dress and rubber shoes for the graduation ceremony.
“Sa wakas nakasuot narin ng costume (I have worn a costume at last),” the ABS-CBN newscaster posted on Instagram.
Mar Roxas, who placed second to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte in the May 9 presidential election, attended the event to give support to his wife.
Roxas also posted the graduation photos on his official Facebook page congratulating his wife and her batchmates for finishing their Master’s degree. Roxas also finished elementary and high school in Ateneo.
“Attended Korina's graduation this afternoon, she finished her Masters in Journalism from Ateneo de Manila. Such a sight to see: graduates marching in to the familiar tah-tatatata-tah tune. So proud, so serious and so confident! Parents (and husbands like me) so proud also. Congrats to Korina and all the other graduates,” the defeated Liberal Party standard-bearer posted.
Meanwhile, Sanchez shared a quote said by batch valedictorian Daniel Joseph Benito during the graduation rites: “Sa gitna ng karanasan ng pagkabigo at pagkabasag, maaari parin tayong magbigay ng pagmamahal... Kahit sa tingin natin at kulang ang ibinibigay natin, ipag patuloy parin natin ang pagbibigay.''
