- Fans of MMA were also present during the fight of actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos

Prior to the highly-anticipated ‘celebrity death match’ of the year, other mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters slugged it out on the arena at the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) Fight Night.
Fans of the sport and supporters of the event’s special guests lined up outside Valkryie Club at the Palace on Saturday, June 25.
There were nine fights in total, with actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos being the last pair to compete.

The first fight was for the flyweight division, as Rommel Lugo and Ariel Lampacan warmed the arena with a quick bout that only ended in two rounds. Lampacan was declared the winner after the referee stopped him due to strikes.
Two consecutive bantamweight bouts commenced after the flyweight round, with Benjie Tabaranza and Rodian Mechavez as the first pair while Ferdinand Batac and Arjay Bangala as the second. Mechavez won the first fight while Bangala won the second.
The fights intensified when flyweight EF Sevilla fought against John Gonzales for three rounds, with the latter winning via unanimous decision. The featherweight bout was between Jued Castillo and Von Darbon, with the former winning by beating his opponent in the second round.

Eddie Estrada and MJ Abrillo, both practicing the Filipino martial art Yaw-Yan (SaYAW ng KamataYAN), fought for the strawweight title. Abrillo defeated Estrada via rear naked choke.
The co-main event was between welterweights John Adajar and Jericho Tomagan, who were also supposed to fight at the Academy Fighting Championship four years ago. They have been given the chance to settle their score on Saturday, but with a disastrous result on Tomagan’s part: he got a dislocated shoulder instead of the title. Adajar was declared the winner by TKO, and their bout only lasted for a minute and 27 seconds.
Catchweights Chris Hoffman and Arvin Chan served the main event, whose intense fight prepped everyone’s excitement for the special guests of the arena. Hoffman retained his title as the URCC Light-Heavyweight Champion as he defeated Chan in two rounds.

Actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos ended the event with a quick two-round bout, where Matos claimed the first round by completely pinning Geisler on the floor and delivered a flurry of blows to his opponent. However, Geisler won the second round as he caught Matos in a headlock and kicked him all over.
Geisler apparently denied having a third round after URCC founder Alvin Aguilar asked if both parties were still willing to continue to fight.
The judges declared that their fight was a draw, as both got 19 points.

After the fight, Geisler was mobbed by the crowd as he was whisked out of the arena. Despite his injuries, fans took selfies with the actor. Soon, both parties were rushed out of the venue where Geisler eventually conducted a brief interview for the media.
He said that his reconciliation with Matos was not fake, and declared that they have finally settled their score with each other.
