Social Welfare Secretary: No Rice Blockade In Kidapawan

According to a statement relayed by Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman to Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, there is no truth to the allegation that there is a food blockade in Kidapawan City. Soliman belies such accusation based on feedback she received from her staff who are in Kidapawan.

Soliman said that the government is currently coordinating with local officials for the delivery of rice and food packs to municipalities identified by Local Government Units (LGUs)  and the protesters.

Kidapawan City is the capital of Cotabato Province. It was recently mired by violent clashes between farmers-protesters and police authorities over the release of 15,000 sacks of rice subsidy.
