- Barney mask gets stuck on teenager's head and shoulders
- It took 45 minutes to have the mask taken off
- Everything was captured on video
Seeing someone wearing mascot costumes somehow lightens up our mood (except if you’re afraid of mascots). For others, it becomes funny – or funnier – if you wear it for a prank and pulled it off successfully. However, there comes a time when it is not funny at all, at least not for this teenager.
Darby Risner, who is from Alabama, made use of a Barney costume lying around and decided to wear it for a prank. Unfortunately, it seems like the joke is on her when the massive mask got stuck on her.
It took roughly 45 minutes for this teenager and her friends to successfully pull it off. Of course, they needed all the amount of help they could get after realizing that they cannot do it on their own.
In a video, it can be seen that the teenager was wearing the big purple dinosaur costume. When it got stuck on her head and shoulders, her friends tried to help, but were unsuccessful.
What the teenagers did was pulled Risner in both directions in an attempt to get off the mask. To make the situation funnier, her friends decided to film it and post it on Twitter because that’s what friends are for.
Finally, after all the failed attempts, they decided to go to a fire station where firefighters successfully removed the Barney mask. The whole ordeal took 45 minutes – all captured on social media.
"When she first got there, we looked at it and it was tight," Trussville Fire and Rescue Lt. Vince Bruno told CNN affiliate WVTM. "It had come down around her shoulders and was holding her arms, which looked kind of like dinosaur arms because she could bend from the elbows down, and it was little comical."
So the next time you see a Barney costume – or any costume for that matter – think at least twice before putting it on.
