Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has been allowed to celebrate her birthday in her QC home.
The Supreme Court granted Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's request to celebrate her birthday at her home in Quezon City. Arroyo has been allowed to spend three days, from 8 a.m. on April 4 until 5 p.m. on April 6, at her home at the La Vista Subdivision.
The incumbent Pampanga Representative is set to turn 69 on April 5.
Arroyo left the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) yesterday morning, April 4, 2016, and is scheduled to be brought back by tomorrow afternoon, April 6, 2016.
She originally asked for five days for her birthday celebration but the Supreme Court only granted her three days as she has already been granted permission to come home during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Arroyo, who is the representative of Pampanga, is currently on house arrest while on trial for plunder on the alleged misuse of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) during her tenure in office.
Arroyo has elevated her case to the SC after Sandiganbayan junked her demurrer to evidence. The SC has yet to decide her appeal but has suspended her trial.
