- Ron and Janelle Adams decided to adopt baby Gabe.
- Gabe persevered and learned how to write, walk, swim and dance.
- The limbless Adams made it to his junior high school’s dance team.
Gabe Adams was born in Brazil without arms and legs. For this reason, his parents abandoned him as an infant.
The baby was then taken to an orphanage until Ron and Janelle Adams – a married couple from Utah – decided to adopt him.
“I’d take him in a second,” Janelle said after seeing a photo of the limbless child.
The kindly couple took the abandoned baby to their home to treat him as their own child. However, the parents experienced great difficulties in parenting baby Gabe.
“I kept wondering, ‘How would I feed him? How would I dress him? How would we teach him to walk?'", Janelle said.
Seventeen years later, Gabe can do much more than feed and dress himself and move around by himself.
Gabe, who is now a sophomore student, has made it to the 29-member dance team at Davis High in Kaysville.
It turned out that the limbless boy secretly taught himself how to dance and practiced relentlessly for many months before trying out for the talent show at his junior high school.
Aside from learning how to dance well, Gabe also learned how to write, use the stairs and swim on the water.
The boy credits his parents for helping him accomplish so much despite having a disability.
“They helped me see myself as a normal boy who could find independence. I just needed a different approach to accomplish things,” Gabe said.
There is no doubt that Gabe will continue to defy expectations as he grows older and gains more experience in life. Do not forget to SHARE this inspiring story to your friends and family!
