The recent research shows that cowgirl sex position is the most dangerous for men.
The data was provided by 3 emergency rooms of the hospitals in Campinas, Brazil, a city with a 3 million population. In the span of 13 years between January, 2000 and March, 2013, 42 confirmed cases of broken tunica albuginea, or penile fracture, were registered. The average age of patirnts comprises was 34 years old.
The research shows that cowgirl position accounts for 50% of male sexual injuries. 29% of injuries were caused by doggystyle, and missionary position caused penis fracture in 21% of cases.
Brazilian researchers and urologists suppose that in the cowgirl position a man can not interrupt painful movements immediately as a woman puts her entire weght on an erect penis, while in the other positions a man can control the woman's movements and reduce the risk of injury.
Half of the patients, who participated in the research could hear a characteristic cracking noise before they felt pain and swelling. It proves that penile fracture is not a myth.
However, there is some good news too. Only 5 per cent of such injuries result in erectile disfunction.
