Speeding is a violation that would definitely get you a ticket from a cop. But for this particular driver, RaeAnn Kuykendall, who's going about 10 miles above the speed limit in Idaho got more than she expected from the cop who asked her to pull over.
RaeAnn was already expecting the ticket from Deputy Brakeman. But first, he spoke to RaeAnn to know her reason for violating the traffic rule. The officer also noticed that RaeAnn's mother is sitting on the passenger seat and he can tell that something is wrong. RaeAnn honestly said that they were on their way to the oncologist for her mother’s cancer treatment. This realization shook the officer.
To RaeAnn's surprise, Deputy Brakeman decided to pray with them instead of issuing them a ticket. The reason why? The officer lost his mother to cancer.
After the memorable incident, RaeAnn took to the department's Facebook page her amazement and gratefulness to Deputy Brakeman. And she wrote: “The officer that pulled me over didn’t give me a ticket but instead went over to my mum’s side of the car, got down to her level and gave her a beautiful prayer. Needless to say, I emotionally lost it but thankful for him pulling me over at that moment and offering his kindness to us. I don’t know the officer’s name that stopped me but I want to thank him for his blessings and for hope.”
