Let’s look back at some of the most renowned celebrity couples in the Philippines and their notable wedding destinations.
1. Paul Soriano - Toni Gonzaga
The wedding of Toni and Direk Paul is probably our favorite. It is full of love, and as simple as it could get, without taking away the Toni-Paul personality. It was held at Methodist Church in Taytay, Rizal June of last year. But seeing how simple the ceremony got, that’s how grand the reception with silver motif was for the Ultimate Multimedia Star. With the reception held at the Rockwell Tent, and with guests hwho were entertained by no other than the couple’s favorite Mr. Gary Valenciano, anyone could imagine how the evening went. Seeing the venue with hundreds of showbiz guests, everyone certainly had a wonderful and magical silver evening.
2. Chiz Escudero - Heart Evangelista
The grand wedding of Sen. Chiz and actress Heart Evangelista is probably one for the books. The wedding that took years of preparation was held at Balesin Island in the province of Quezon last February of 2015. The ceremony was at the Balesin Spa in the said island resort with cocktails and a sumptuous dinner. Considered as the wedding of the year, the couple followed the traditional white theme.
With a touch of sweetness, grandeur and elegance, it’s no doubt a wedding of every girl’s dream.
3. Drew Arellano - Iya Villana
After 10 years of being together, these sweet and fun-loving couple finally tied the knot. It is undeniably the most charming wedding of 2015. Before the big day, rumors were spreading as to where there beautiful wedding would be, which the organizers never disclosed. Everyone was in awe when they find out on the day itself that the wedding was held in a private ceremony at Meditation Point, Kawayan Cove in Nasugbu, Batangas. Yes, why haven’t we thought about it?
Iya, 27, and Drew, 34, are both living a life full of exciting journeys. There is no doubt that even up to the choice of venue for their very special day, adventure is never going to leave them. Not that day, not ever!
4. Robert Chien - Lea Salonga
"This is my life we're talking about," our favorite Broadway star said. "My wedding is not a show which would end its run after a year." There is no other place else to get married than where the two of you first met. And the couple Lea Salonga and long-time lover Robert Chien have made that fairytale into a reality. They tied the knot on January 2004 at the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels in downtown Los Angeles. The Cathedral is the only church closest, it is only a block away from the spot where they met. What else could be more magical than that?
5. Vic Sotto - Pauleen Luna
"Why not get married at your own parish?" This was the commentators’ reaction when they found that the much-awaited wedding of the two was at a church at Alabang. The couple shared that this is where they attend mass when they get the chance.
When these two Eat Bulaga stars announced to the world that they were engaged, many wanted to fish wedding details. The event was very beautiful and grand, graced by remarkable showbiz, business and political personalities. After all, the groom Vic Sotto is no ordinary man in the showbiz industry.
6. Arthur Burnand - Georgina Wilson
Everyone was surprised when Georgina Wilson, the Philippines' most famous it-girl, finally became Mrs. Georgina Wilson-Burnand. She intentionally kept her engagement to English boyfriend for quite some time. With her life constantly in the spotlight, for her, it is better to keep this a secret for a change.
It was a simple yet elegant private wedding held at St Peter's Catholic Church in Winchester just last April this year. With the reception at Avington Park, there could be no wedding as English as theirs.
7. Dingdong Dantes - Marian Rivera
Taking you back to the Philippines, the DongYan wedding is considered the grandest Filipino wedding to date. It was held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cubao last December of 2014.
And just when you thought, it couldn’t get any grander; the couple booked and rented the whole of the Mall of Asia arena to hold their reception. MOA arena is the venue for big events and concert, both local and international. There is nothing more special than these Kapuso stars’ wedding as the President of the Philippines himself graced the occasion. And with his presence, of course, the area was guarded by the Presidential Security Group (PSG). Now, who else could get that?
