Most of us have a lot of pants just lying around the house. My dad has a lot, too, and most of the time, we just include these items in the garage sale. But Miljorie has a different idea in mind. A very brilliant idea, in fact.
When she saw her dad's khaki pants, she instantly imagined to upcycle them and turn them into something she can wear. While most of us would think about making pants into shorts or skirts, or to just resize them, Miljorie wanting something more amazing - a trench coat! In fact, aside from pants turning to trench coats, you can also do simple upcycles such as turning a man's shirt into a dress. Awesome? Yep.
The trench coat Miljorie made from a pair of pants is something that we can wear in spring and in fall. All you need for this project are two pairs of dress pants, a sewing machine, pins, a pair of scissors, and a piece of white chalk or a pencil. You can buy dress pants at thrift shops if you don't have one from your dad. See how Miljorie did it in the video below:
