Former Senator Manny Pacquiao lost in a civil lawsuit filed in the US by Paradigm Sports Management. The US jury ordered Manny to pay a total of $5.1 million — around ₱282 million — to Paradigm as a result, according to a tweet by Los Angeles-based journalist Steve Angeles of ABS-CBN News.
Paradigm filed a civil lawsuit against Manny for allegedly breaching their contract. The boxer allegedly concealed his preexisting agreement with Paradigm while negotiating with another promotional company — TGP Promotions — for a fight with Errol Spence Jr.
This supposedly hindered Paradigm from making a fight between Manny and UFC superstar Connor McGregor. After Errol Spence got injured, Manny went on to fight Yordenis Ugas in his last fight as a professional boxer.
