This video from the Chicago zoo is scary and touching at the same time.
On the day it happened, the zoo was full of people. Many of them, of course, brought their little children, and no one expected something like this to happen.
A 3-year-old boy wanted to take a closer looks at the gorilla den. While his mother was distracted, he climbed the railing, but, unfortunately, lost his footing. He fell 25 feet into the den and lost consciousness from the collision.
It was hard for everyone around not to panic. Gorillas are known for being extremely territorial, and there were 7 of them in the den. Help was coming, but in the meantime no one knew what could happen to the boy. When 8-year-old Binti picked him up, everyone stopped breathing for a moment.
Then Binti did the unexpected: she carefully carried the child to the doors of the den, where zoo employees were able to pick him up and take him away. Her motherly instincts must have prompted her what to do!
The boy has since recovered from his fall, and the gorilla who saved his life is now known as a real hero. And she fully deserves it!
