Ian Veneracion sa first-ever Best Actor award niya: “Siyempre nakakatuwa po”

Ian Veneracion received his first-ever Best Actor award during the 48th MMFF Gabi ng Parangal due to his excellent performance in “Nanahimik Ang Gabi.”

Cristy Fermin and Romel Chika then had the chance to interview Ian in the latest episode of “Cristy Ferminute.”

During the interview, the veteran showbiz columnist asked Ian how he feels now that he finally bagged a highly-coveted Best Actor recognition.

“Siyempre nakakatuwa po. Nakakatuwa naman po dahil nga alam niyo naman po maaga ako nag-start sa showbiz and first time ko po manalo dito sa atin ng Best Actor award after 40 years of being in the business. So nakakatuwa naman po," Ian answered.

He then went on to praise the movie’s script, scenes, and director, Shugo Praico.

“Saka alam ko dahil 'yun sa ang ganda script kasi. Saka ang galing direktor namin at ang galing ng eksena po kaya naging madali po 'yon para sa amin as actors kasi naka-immerse talaga kami. Nasa bubble po kami nung time na 'yon.”

Cristy further asked the actor, "Ian, nag-sink in na ba sa iyo ngayon? Nag-sink na sa iyo na Best Actor ka na talaga? Mukha yatang nasa alapaap ka pa rin."

To which Ian replied, “Pag ginagawa natin 'yung trabaho wala naman 'yun sa isip natin at hindi naman 'yon ang dahilan kung bakit natin pinagbubuti ang trabaho natin. Pero magandang pakiramdam lang na na-appreciate pala ng iba, ng nakakapanood.”

Ian Veneracion started young in the showbiz industry. He has already been acting since 1992 in various television shows and films. He starred in Kapamiya teleseryes like "A Love to Last" with Bea Alonzo, and "Pangako Sa'Yo" with Jodi Sta. Maria.

Earlier, Rabiya Mateo posted a candid photo of her with Ian. In the said photo, both Ian and Rabiya could be seen talking to each other. This prompted Rabiya to crack a joke about falling in line, making netizens laugh.

Heaven Peralejo also featured Ian in a TikTok video. She uploaded a video of her receiving a kiss on the forehead from the actor. Ian and Heaven are love interests in their MMFF 2022 entry “Nanahimik Ang Gabi."
