Actor Jericho Rosales admitted that he used to take drugs when he was a teenager.
In a press conference for Wrangler's #TrueWanderer Philippines adventure race, Rosales said he started using illegal substances because of family problems. His parents eventually separated.
He said he was thankful for having good friends at that time who guided him and encouraged him to stop.
"The battle with drugs usually starts when you're a teenager. Make an effort to surround yourself with the right people. Be strong; don't be pressured to do something just because other people are doing it," said Rosales.
The actor said he supports President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on his plan to get rid of illegal drugs in the country.
"This is something that should not be taken lightly... I think drugs are prevalent because kids these days have problems with socializing. Most of them are online -- they post something on the web and they get bullied or criticized," added Rosales.
He, however, clarified that he does not support killing people involved in drugs.
"I'm not saying we should kill people. I just want to tell Filipinos to be more responsible, and law enforcers to be stricter," Jericho said.
