Finding a place to live in a big city can be daunting, but settling on any property should not be the case. Who knows what could be lurking in your new home?
A young couple from New York got the surprise of their lives upon moving to their new apartment, as they found a dead man’s body wrapped in plastic under a blanket.
The dead man, identified as Sidney Harris, was found by the couple on the night of May 31, Monday. They told the police that an unidentified man offered the apartment to them if they cleaned it out first. The unknown man, presumably the landlord, assumed that the original tenant was at the hospital and would not return.
The couple also found a note from a supposed killer, who wrote an apology for the smell. Neighbors have complained of a foul odor emanating from the apartment just before the couple’s discovery.
Harris, 64, was a former convict from the Bronx. The city’s Medical Examiner reported that he died of multiple skull fractures.
Police are still on the hunt for the killer on Wednesday, June 1.
