People always picture a Franciscan monk as someone who lives a quiet life in his search for spiritual salvation and peace.
While it is true that some monks live a life of silence for a long time - months, years, or even for the rest of their lives, there are also some of them who choose to celebrate their love for the Lord by singing ancient hymns.
One thing's for sure. No matter what they choose to do in their life to please God, they dedicate their whole lives doing it and inspiring others to do the same. Their act of celebrating the Creator's love for us is not limited to leading a silent life or by singing ancient hymns. In fact, they have a variety of interests as well but the main goal is to spread the Word of God. You will be amazed how good they are with their chosen interest - playing the guitar, singing, writing poetry, and even dancing!
One amazing example of these monks is Brother John Aherne, a Franciscan monk. In the video below, he shows off his awesome Irish dancing skills as a way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Boston. You will see how much he has in dancing, and people around him sure loved seeing him dance. Watch his performance here:
