- Jake Cuenca's car was mistakenly identified as among those part of the "buy-bust" operations, according to an acquaintance of the actor

- He said that the actor did not stop when he was flagged by non-uniformed personnel, and only stopped when he saw uniformed police officers

- According to him, the policemen mistook his car for a suspect's vehicle because it was tinted and had big wheels, but they did not find anything illegal in it upon search

- He was not also carrying a gun, nor did he shoot at a Grab rider

Jake Cuenca's car was mistakenly identified by police operatives as one of those that they needed to conduct operations in that area in Mandaluyong, said the actor's acquaintance.

Based on Bandera Inquirer, the actor's acquaintance narrated that Jake came from Paulo Avelino's house and when he was on his way home, there was a group of non-uniformed men flagging him down at the side of the road.

The report stated that he did not stop because they were not in uniform and when Jake did stop with some policemen, they searched his car and found no illegal substance of any sort.

It was only then found out that policemen thought that Jake's car, because it has big wheels and tinted, was a part of the vehicles that they needed to "bust," the Bandera report stated.

However, policemen already shot the wheels of the actor's car and the issue with the Grab rider was cleared up.

The actor had no gun and he did not shoot the Grab rider, opposite the claims of previous news reports.

An earlier report in Manila Times noted that Brig. Gen. Matthew Bacay, Eastern Police District director, said that the police had to "disable" the car to prevent Jake from escaping.

In a separate report, CNN also posted photos of SOCO operatives inspecting the impounded car of the actor.

Paulo Avelino, the friend of Jake where he was from also condemned the news reports that initially came out regarding the mishap.
