Veteran columnist, Lolit Solis, revealed this piece of information in an IG post.
According to the post, the younger sister of Gretchen Barretto will try her luck in Olongapo City, where she would be running for councilor.
The columnist also noted that a lot of people were surprised to learn that Clau will also run for public office as there was no prior talk regarding the matter.

The lack talks, however, does not mean there is no semblance of truth to the information as the actress’ photo already appeared on tarpaulins of a mayoral candidate showing Clau as one of the city council bets in the political lineup.
“Marami ang ginulat ni Claudine Barretto na tatakbo siya konsehal sa Olongapo,” the post on Lolit’s IG account said.
In the same IG post, Lolit also expressed her gladness that many actors and actresses have registered at the COMELEC so they could also cast their vote in next year’s elections.
“Mabuti naman maraming artista ang nagpa register to vote, Salve,” the post also noted.
She also said that the 2022 elections would be cool as many known celebrities have expressed intention to participate.
Lolit said it is within their rights to run for public office, as long as they are Filipinos.
Lolit Solis is a Pinay talk show host, entertainment news writer, talent manager and showbiz columnist. She was born on May 20, 1947 in the city of Manila. According to the veteran columnist, she spent her early life in a poor section of Lardizabal in Sampaloc, Manila. She has made numerous controversial remarks about known celebrities. She was also involved in the infamous 1994 Manila Film Scandal, where she induced several actors and actresses to announce different names as winners.
Lolit also took the time to praise the fans of Claudine Barretto. She said that they are magalang and marespeto, which was why even if there are news items that are not that nice about Claudine, she would not bother to discuss them. The veteran columnist added that she takes her hats off to the fans of Clau, especially the Dubai chapter, more so that the words that they use are all very respectful. This is primarily the reason why she really admires the fans of Claudine Barretto.
In one of Clau's live session previously, she showed how protective her sister, Gretchen Barretto, is. In that same live session, she revealed that she does not have any debt with Jinkee Pacquiao. She admitted though that she already knows who is the one behind such rumors. Her Ate Gretchen then interjected that Claudine would just have to state the truth and say the name of the one spreading the rumors.
