Unique Salonga has issued a statement concerning rumors that he used to entice a 15-year-old fan when he was still a member of the band, IV of Spades.

The singer and composer labeled these talks as false and misleading.
Earlier, screenshots of an alleged conversation between Unique and the 15-year-old fan started making rounds on social media.
Based on the viral post, the deed allegedly happened in 2018.

The post went on to claim that the singer and songwriter would constantly ask the young fan to go out with him and watch their gigs.
Allegedly, the 15-year-old, however, claimed to have resisted Unique’s overtures because the young fan felt it was wrong.
The viral post has since then been deleted, though some netizens might have downloaded a screenshot of the same.
Unique said the claims of the post are entirely false.
“These imputations are misleading and false, and I will not dignify these scurrilous statements by further discussing or elaborating on them,” the singer-composer said in his recent statement.
He said while he does not have time to mind these false statements, there are some who use and propagate them on social media in an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Unique revealed he has consulted his management team and they all agreed to take legal action against those who continue to damage his brand.
The singer-composer said that while some of these posts have been deleted, they were able to document and will submit such to authorities for proper investigation.
“With fairness, integrity & due process, the allegations will be addressed in the proper legal forum, to include possible actions for libel and violation of the Cybercrime Law,” he stated.
Unique said that while he respects the freedom of expression, it should be within the context of a “meaningful discussion and constructive criticism,” and should never be used to damage the reputation of another.
Unique Salonga is a Pinoy singer and songwriter who started his career as IV of Spades frontman. He later on decided to pursue a solo career and is now considered as an independent artist. Last year, he was also inadvertently thrust into controversy after a recording company credited him as the sole composer of the popular song, “Mundo.” As a result, IV of Spades fans raised a howl, saying Zild Benitez, a IV of Spades member and bassist, contributed to the song, which is why it is wrong for the company to claim that it was solely composed by Unique.
In 2020, the father of Unique joined the singing competition “Tawag ng Tanghalan.” He showcased his excellent singing skills by performing “Sa Ugoy ng Duyan.” With his performance, he advanced to the weekly finals of the said popular show. Even Vice Ganda admitted that he was touched after watching Unique’s father.
Three years ago, Unique was also involved in a controversy that is not of his own making. It involved a photo of Andrea Brillantes with the singer-composer, which was subsequently bashed by some netizens. Andrea decided to defend herself on social media. She said that there was nothing wrong with the photo and that she refuses to apologize.
