In one of It's Showtime's episode, Kim said, "Baka nagche-cheat noong hindi siya naging masaya. Baka ano, bumukas ang mundo ng cheating dahil hindi siya masaya sa partner niya."
To this Vice responded, "Again Kim Chiu, there’s no acceptable reason for cheating. Masaya ka or hindi masaya, walang kaso yun to cheat. Hindi ka ma-absulwelto run."

Many of Kim's fans immediately took to social media and defended the actress.
One of the netizens stated:
"Let me just say this lang po, Kim is not justifying cheating po. I get her point in that clip. What she's trying to say is yung hindi pagiging masaya sa iisang relationship, ang nagiging way para sa isang tao na nasa loob ng isang relasyon na mag-decide na mag-cheat."
Another defender of Kim said:
"Dahil lang sa maling nasabi. Nahusgahan ka na agad like a bad person kahit. Eventually nung tinama ka naman ni Vice eh you still accept it. That is important. We still love and support you no matter what."

During the latest episode of their noontime show, Vice Ganda and his co-hosts were discussing the common "always a cheater" phrase. The 'Unkabogable Star' eventually noticed Kim's reaction and asked her opinion about the said phrase. However, netizens and viewers of the show were stunned when Kim said that perhaps people cheat because they are no longer happy.
Xian Lim uploaded a new photo on his Instagram account and his girlfriend Kim Chiu commented on it. The Kapamilya actress told her beau that he's handsome which brought happiness to their followers and of course, to Xian as well. Kim's comment immediately received a reply from Xian who jokingly asked her why she was being sweet. Furthermore, the former Kapamilya actor who is now in GMA-7, also told the Chinita Princess that he misses her.
