Casimero recently beat Cuban boxing star Guillermo Rigondeaux, who defeated Donaire years ago.

According to Casimero, Donaire should be ashamed of himself for getting defeated by a “weak boxer.”

"Hindi ka nahihiya nun (Donaire)? Yung nambugbog sa'yo papatulugin ko sana kung hindi lang tumakbo. Ang hina pala nung bumugbog sa'yo," Casimero said.

The Filipino champ also confessed that he did not want to fight Rigondeaux and would have rather fought Donaire, who canceled their fight because of Casimero’s disrespectful comments towards him and his wife, Rachel Donaire.

"Hindi ko naman talaga siya (Rigondeaux) lalabanan. Ano bang makukuha ko sa kaniya? Wala. Ang makukuha ko lang sa kaniya yung karangalan ko na matatalo ko siya,” Casimero shared.

Here is Casimero’s interview on JM Siasat’s YouTube channel:

Johnriel Casimero is a Filipino professional boxer born in Ormoc, Leyte. He is the reigning WBO Bantamweight Champion and previously held titles in the flyweight and junior flyweight divisions. Aside from his aggressive and explosive fighting style, Casimero is also known for trash-talking his opponents.

Aside from Casimero, another Filipino who is making the country proud in the sport of boxing is none other than Senator Manny Pacquiao. He defeated top welterweight champion Keith Thurman in 2019 to capture the WBA crown. Pacquiao is scheduled to fight Yordenis Ugas next.

Nonito Donaire also made waves in the boxing scene when he and Naoya Inoue won The Ring 2019 Fight of the Year award for their epic match in Japan. Although The Filipino Flash lost, many fans praised the aging Pinoy fighter for putting up a great and gutsy effort against one of the best boxers in the world.
