- Hidilyn Diaz was all smiles as she received the house and lot in Tagaytay City promised by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) as she was successful in bringing home a gold medal

- The newly-promoted Air Force Staff Sergeant won the country’s first Olympic Gold Medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the women’s 55kg weightlifting category

- She set an Olympic record for that category in the clean and jérk with a 127kg weightlifting, with a total of 224kg

- The elated Gold Olympian, along with POC officials, happily greeted onlookers who have gathered outside her new house

Hidilyn Diaz has received the house and lot promised her by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) if she is successful in getting a gold medal in the recently-concluded Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.

The Philippine weightlifter faced the challenge with a resolute face and at the end of the competition, she saw herself winning the women’s 55kg weightlifting category.

The newly-promoted Air Force Staff Staff Sergeant also set an Olympic record for that division in the clean and jérk category by lifting 127kg weights, closing with a total of 224kg.

The two-story house has a modern-minimalistic design with an expansive ground.

While waiting for the formal turn-over ceremony, Hidilyn greeted onlookers who have gathered outside her new home.

“Hi po! Hi neighbors!” Hidilyn happily greeted and waved to the onlookers.

Among those who were on hand to witness the turnover is Sen. Francis Tolentino, the brother of POC President Cong. Abraham Tolentino.

The senator later uploaded the video of the house and lot turnover on his Facebook page.

Earlier, Hidilyn also received a gorgeous condo unit located in Eastwood City in Quezon City, which was awarded her by Megaworld Properties.

The Manny V. Pangilinan Sports Foundation (MVPSF) also handed her a check worth 10-million pesos as fulfillment of the promise made by the foundation to those who will bring home an Olympic Gold.

Several days ago, the gold medalist also received her Kia Stonic car from the Ayala Foundation.

Hidilyn Francisco Diaz, an Air Force Staff Sergeant and Pinay weightlifter, is the first Filipino to bring home an Olympic Gold Medal. She also holds an Olympic weightlifting record in the women’s 55kg division, which she achieved during the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. During the 2007 SEA Games held in Thailand, she won the bronze medal and placed 10th place in the 53-kilogram class. She went on to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics where she became a Silver Medalist in the women’s 53-kg category. In July of 2021, Hidilyn won the first-ever Olympic Gold Medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.

Hidilyn Diaz expressed gratitude to the country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines. This, after PAL sponsored the Filipino Olympic athletes' travel to Tokyo, Japan for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Olympic gold medalist also thanked the airline for their faith in the national athletes. The Filipina weightlifter penned the said note during her flight from Tokyo to Manila.

Hidilyn Diaz took to Instagram and shared who was responsible for keeping the Olympian grounded. The gold medalist shared that it is Sir Noel Ferrer, the guy she met when she came home from Rio Olympics in 2016. She said that it was Mikee Cojuangco who introduced him to her and she is very thankful. According to Hidilyn, Sir Noel strengthened her character so that she will not be carried away by fame and attention.
