- A doctor took to Facebook and expressed his grief after a fellow doctor, who was a friend and co-worker, passed away

- The doctor who died was pregnant and the pain that was felt by her family and by her co-workers was simply too much

- He shared the text message that he received from the deceased doctor and stated that it is very difficult to receive one considering that they are both in the same profession and they know what the other is going through

- The message he received was "Daki, nahihirapan ako huminga huhuhu"

Dr. Donald Delos Santos Reluya took to Facebook and shared the heartbreaking message that he received from fellow doctor, Dra. Anne Mimay-Magkasi, who died of COVID-19, who was also pregnant.

In a Facebook post, the doctor expressed his grief, "Paalam. Dra. Hayup ka COVID, dalawa pa sila!!!"

He shared the message he received from the doctor:

"Daki nahihirapan ako huminga huhuhu... Nka face mask ako di ko keri walang oxygen."

In an exclusive interview with Manila Bulletin, Dr. Reluya shared that Dra. Anne was confirmed positive on July 28. She was then admitted to the hospital but passed away on August 1.

"Ang asawa niya at pamilya niya ay hindi pa din makapaniwala na wala na siya. Pilit kinakaya pero mahirap," said Dr. Reluya.

He then said, that even with the ongoing program of the government, there are still many healthworkers who are unvaccinated, and Dra. Anne was one of them.

The COVID-19 outbreak started out in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China. Scientists believed that the virus came from an animal at one of Wuhan's wet markets. The Philippines has slowly eased quarantine measures and Filipinos are starting to adapt to the new normal.

Doctors, nurses, and many healthworkers have died after being infected by COVID-19. They are among the frontliners who attend to the patients rushing to hospitals amid pandemic.

The government faced problems when they imposed the initial community quarantine, which was elevated into enhanced community quarantine. It also suspended transportation causing massive problems with commuters. At present, the government imposes different categories of quarantine restrictions depending on the number of cases and other pertinent factors on various provinces.
