Isko Moreno, binawian na ng show-cause order ng DILG; sinabing ang order ay “inadvertent re-issuance”

- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has withdrawn the show-cause order it issued against Manila Mayor Isko Moreno

- The order alleged that the 2018 anti-illegal drúgs campaign of the city government of Manila is inadequate

- While the national government agency may hold hard data as evidence, it might have overlooked the fact that Moreno only assumed office in 2019

- The DILG must have noticed this later on as it immediately withdrew the order, calling it an “inadvertent re-issuance.”

Earlier, the national government agency issued a show-cause order against Yorme for its alleged inadequate anti-illegal drúgs campaign in 2018.

The DILG held evidence of their claim, which was based on 2018 hard data.

The problem is that Mayor Moreno assumed office only on June 30, 2019, after winning in the mid-term elections.

This could mean that he had nothing to do with the city’s anti-illegal drúg campaign as he was not the mayor at the time.

The DILG, which might have overlooked this fact, recently corrected itself, and withdrew the show-cause order, citing “inadvertent re-issuance.”

The national agency also forwarded a copy of the memorandum on Friday to INQUIRER.net.

According to DILG Undersecretary Ricojudge Janvier Echiverri said that they are withdrawing the document due to the error.

“By virtue of this error and the guidance of policies and procedures of the Department, we are hereby withdrawing the document in issue,” USec Echiverri said.
