Hidilyn Diaz has taken to social media to air her congratulatory message to Nesthy Petecio after the latter bagged a silver medal in the women’s featherweight final at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday.

On her Facebook page, the Filipina weightlifter expressed how proud she is of her fellow Olympian.
“Hi, Nesthy! Congratulations, I know na ginawa mo lahat and silver medal, additional medal 'yun sa atin. Pero alam mo, para sa puso ko at sa puso ng bawat Pilipino, ikaw ang panalo. Congratulations and thank you for bringing pride and honor sa ating bansa,” the Olympic gold medalist told Nesthy.
Hidilyn likewise admitted that she became emotional while watching Nesthy’s fight against Japan’s Sena Irie.
“Alam mo kanina, sasabihin ko na, na parang umiiyak ako habang pinapanood ko kasi nga, grabe, intense ang laban niyo and thank you. Thank you for fighting for the Philippines.”

The Filipina Olympic gold medalist wrote a thank-you note on PAL’s business class menu card during her flight from Tokyo to Manila. A photo of Hidilyn's thank-you note to PAL then went viral.
