Jessy Mendiola encourages women to have their own source of income

Jessy Mendiola recently graced the most recent vlog of her friend Enchong Dee who has uploaded it on his YouTube channel as part of his Honest Questions series.

Enchong who has become a successful entrepreneur and has often called himself a 'budgetarian' always makes sure that his questions are about managing finances.

This is why the actor asked Jessy whether she believes that it is important for women to have their own savings.

Jessy explained that a lot of people believe that she relies on her husband Luis Manzano when it comes to finances but truthfully, the actress is earning her own money as this helps her maintain a sense of independence.

"Parang iniisip ng tao, na dahil asawa na 'ko ni Luis, hindi na ko gumagastos, Luis takes care of everything when it comes to money but it's more like, lumaki kasi akong breadwinner. So I like the feeling that I can fend for myself."

Furthermore, the newlywed also encouraged women to have their own sort of income so they will not solely reliant on their partner's income. According to the actress, if worse comes to worst, and they get separated from their significant others, they would be secure financially.

She added that having their own funds will help imbue them with motivation and a sense of purpose.

"It's so important for women to have that sense of inspiration and purpose. Hindi ka lang asawa. Hindi ka lang nanay. You're a woman, sino ka ba talaga?"

Jessica Mendiola Tawile, popularly known as Jessy Mendiola, is an actress, product endorser and model from the Philippines. She was one of the artists launched under Star Magic batch 15 by ABS-CBN. She went on to star as the lead role for the Filipino adaptation of the Mexican telenovela 'Maria Mercedes' which catapulted her into stardom. She is married to actor and television host, Luis Manzano.

Jessy also recently featured Enchong Dee in her latest mukbang video. While the two celebrity friends had their meal, the actor answered questions prepared by Jessy's staff. In the last part of the video, both Jessy and Enchong were asked if they had a showbiz personality with whom they don't get along.
