Jake Ejercito took to social media to pay tribute to former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, who died today, June 24.
KAMI learned that the actor, whose father is former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, expressed his gratitude to the late president for his service to the country.
According to Ejercito, he is hoping that history will judge Aquino’s presidency kindly. He also described Aquino’s parents – the late former President Corazon Aquino and the late senator Ninoy Aquino – as heroic.
Ejercito's tribute for Aquino has received over 2,000 reactions on Twitter, as of this writing.
“Thank you for your service to the nation, Mr. President. May history judge you kindly and may you revel in the presence of your heroic parents. RIP, PNoy,” Ejercito tweeted.

Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III was the 15th President of the Philippines. The late former President Corazon Aquino and the late senator Ninoy Aquino were his parents. Noynoy was admired by many people for being an incorrupt politician.
Former Pres. Benigno Aquino III was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning. The reason was not yet disclosed to the public. According to initial reports, the former president was brought to a hospital in Quezon City, particularly the Capitol Medical Center.
Hours later, it was confirmed by a family member of Aquino that he has passed away at the age of 61. Noynoy was undergoing dialysis months before his death. He also had a heart operation recently.
