Jodi Sta. Maria has every reason to be happy, particularly that now, one of the items in her bucket list is close to being fulfilled.

The actress recently shared that she was able to defend her thesis successfully, thus getting her a step closer towards getting a college degree, which has been her dream for a long time.

Her thesis is about ear acupuncture detoxification in the anxiety level of those working in TV production studios.

The actual title of Jodi’s thesis is “The Impact of NADA Protocol or Ear Acudetox in the Anxiety Level of People Working in TV Production.”

A thesis is one of the non-negotiable requirements needed in order for a student to pass a course or graduate from college.

It is not simply written and submitted as students have to successfully defend in a panel-proponent setting the claims, hypothesis and conclusions made by the student-proponent in their thesis.

"The defense lasted for 3 hours! I was so nervous! But then at the back of my head I was just really praying na ‘Lord, can you just bless me with all the spiritual knowledge and wisdom to be able to answer all the queries of the panel!’” Jodi shared.

The actress revealed she never expected there is an activity more stressful than being in showbiz.

“I never realized na meron palang mas stressful pa sa pagiging showbiz. Pero iba rin naman yung fulfillment!” Jodi added.

She explained that grades aren’t immediately available after the defense. At the moment, it would be pass, fail, or re-defense.

Jodi happily shared that the panel had told her she passed.

The actress also admitted that she is not very much interested in what her grade is and what’s important is that she was able to defend it successfully and passed.

Jodi Chrissie Garcia Santamaria, more popularly known by her screen name Jodi Sta. Maria, is a Pinay actress and model. She was born on June 16, 1982 in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Jodi and her brother grew up in the care of their single mother. The actress went to the Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy and had the distinction of being an honor student. She was also active in extra-curricular activities, was a varsity in her school’s volleyball team, and was also a member of the debating team.

During college, Jodi went to De La Salle University-Dasmariñas with the course Medical Biology as her prerequisite to entering the College of Medicine. However, she quit after one year because of the success of "Be Careful With My Heart", which was extended from its original airing of three months to two and one-half years. Jodi later went back to school and became a Dean’s Lister. She is expected to graduate with the degree in Psychology at the Southville International School and Colleges.

A couple of months ago, Jodi was embroiled in an issue with Claudine Barretto. During that time, Jodi uploaded a cryptic post in her Instagram account amid the accusations hurled by Claudine against the former. The actress made a lengthy post about life and was asking a "you" if the latter was focusing on the majors of life. She then said that tomorrow is never guaranteed so make life worth living. She then gave a piece of very good advice to "choose your battles" and to travel in order to feed the soul.

Amid the issue with Claudine, Jodi managed to show everyone what is important in life. The actress posted a photo of her and Thirdy, her son with Pampy Lacson, in a sweet pose. The photo indeed spoke a thousand words as it showed the closeness of the two and how they loved each other. It also showed that Jodi is a truly happy woman and without any hint of bitterness despite all the issues hurled against her.
