Jolina Magdangal opens up about being scammed during lockdown

Jolina Magdangal took part in a virtual conference to promote her new film, 'Momshies! Ang Soul Mo'y Akin along with her co-stars, Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada.

During the said conference, the celebrity mom revealed how she got scammed by an online seller during lockdown caused by the current pandemic.

According to Jolina, she decided to buy her dream cactus from an online seller and has paid for the transaction via an e-wallet. However, the scammer did not deliver her cactus and has stopped responding to her messages.

When her husband tried to contact the seller, the scammer initially replied then ghosted them once again. Jolina shared that after getting scammed, she has become quite careful with her online purchases and only pays via cash on delivery.

“Kasi bumibili ako online ng mga cactus. Meron doon na gustong gusto kong cactus na dream cactus ko siya tapos sabi ko bakit ang mura? Pero ang galing kasi makipag-usap. Ayun na, noong idedeliver na, cannot be reached na siya. Pero kaya namin nalaman na na-scam na ako, nag-try naman yung asawa ko na mag-inquire sa kanya, sumasagot hanggang sa wala na rin din. Hindi niya totoong account and na-scam na nga ako. Ngayon, sobra ko na. Wala ng online transfer. Ano na, COD."
