Robin Padilla took to Instagram to congratulate Filipino golfer, Yuka Saso, for her historic win at the US Women’s Open championship, and at the same time to warn bashers to stop their tirades against the young champion.

According to the actor, there are netizens who bash Yuka for claiming to be Filipino when the truth is that she’s Japanese.

“Yun mga Pure Filipino citizen by chance na bumibira sa batang ito na keso haponesa,” Robin wrote in his Instagram post.

He then said that those who kept on bashing Yuka as regards her ethnicity or citizenship should just stop, or else he would be forced to hit them with a golf club.

“Tumigil nga kayo sa katarantaduhan niyo paluin ko kayo ng golf club para maliwanagan kayo eh puro kayo puna at reklamo wala naman kayo naitutulong,” the actor added.

Yuka is born in Bulacan to a Filipino mother and Japanese father. She moved to Japan when she was four years old but went back to the Philippines when she was eight and stayed here until she graduated from high school.

In the Instagram post of Binoe where he congratulated Yuka, he also asked every Filipino to be proud of Yuka as she has given the country great honor.

“Maging Proud kayo sa batang ito at BANDILA natin ang dala dala niya at Napakalaking karangalan ang ibinigay sa ating lahi!” Robin said, adding that bashers might want to celebrate even just once in their lives so they could be happy.

“Subukan niyo Magdiwang naman kahit isang beses sa buhay niyo para maging masaya naman kayo,” the actor ended.

He was born on November 23, 1969 in Daet, Camarines Norte to former Camarines Norte Vice-Governor and assemblyman Roy Padilla and Eva Cariño. Known as the “Bad Boy” of Pinoymovies for portraying gangster roles, he has played main character roles in the movies Bad Boy 1 and 2, Anak ni Baby Ama, and Grease Gun Gang. His three other siblings, BB Gandanghari, formerly known as Rustom, Rommel, and the late Royette, were all actors as well.

Recently, a video of Robin on his Instagram page showing the actor collecting his own nasal swab sample went viral. His colleagues can likewise be seen doing self-swab collection in the viral video. The actor said they were left with no choice but to do it due to unavailability of nurses.

Robin also talked about how his funds are starting to dwindle, an issue that prompted comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz to react and share his honest opinion on the matter. It can be recalled that the action star went viral after he revealed that he has already used the money he and Mariel Padilla saved for their kids. The talent manager then defended Robin from those who criticized his financial situation. Ogie likewise narrated the time he personally witnessed Robin’s generosity.
