Rabiya Mateo recently shared on social media the happy news that her Instagram account has now 1.8 million followers.
She took time to thank all those who followed and supported her, not only on her Instagram account, but in so many ways.
The former Ms. Universe 2020 candidate said that she only needed 200k more to reach her goal of 2 million followers.
“Happy 1.8M Followers! 200k to go to reach 2M! Salamat sa init ng pagmamahal at suporta!” Rabiya wrote in her caption.
Having a lot of Instagram followers could help Rabiya gain more exposure and earn some income. At the moment, Rabiya is one of those beauty queens who joined the recently concluded pageant who was able to rake in more than a million followers.
Advertisers are known to pay Instagram account owners with hundreds of thousands, or millions, of followers just by holding up their product.
Rabiya’s Instagram account started to gain more followers when she won as the Philippines’ bet to the prestigious Ms. Universe 2020 pageant.
Her followers rapidly increased during pre-pageant events, making her the only candidate to reach more than a million followers during that time.

She is set to represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, which will be held on May 16, 2021 in Florida. When Neil Salvacion removed the photos of longtime GF Rabiya on his Instagram account, followers and fans of the Ms. Universe 2020 candidate immediately noticed. Netizens bravely asked Neil on his IG account why the photos of the Ilongga beauty queen are nowhere to be found. However, as of writing, Neil still hasn’t responded to any of their question. It can be recalled that while Rabiya was taking her shot at the Ms. Universe 2020 crown, Neil was all out for her, even posting his support on Instagram stories.
After Neil removed the photos of Rabiya from his IG account, he replaced it with a gloomy photo of a sunset at the sea with a solitary boat. He captioned it with "chasing sunsets" without any further explanation. One of his friends asked him "chasing what" and his only reply was the arm strength emoji.
