- The Bureau of Customs has already reached out to the actress after she revealed the situation regarding her package
Bela Padilla recently took to Twitter to pen a lengthy and detailed account of her recent experience with the Bureau of Customs.
According to the actress, a Spanish company has gifted her two pairs of shoes and has already shipped the packages to the Philippines. However, customs asked Bela to pay expensive fees in order to receive her package that is being held by the agency.
"A few months ago, a Spanish brand reached out to me if they can send me 2 pairs of shoes. I said yes and sent my details. They confirmed shipment in April. Last week, I informed them that I haven’t received the shoes yet. Apparently, our customs was charging them an addtl [sic] 10,500 pesos even if they paid for shipping through @DHLUS already. Two days ago I called DHL, and they said I needed to pay 9,000 and the 10,500 to receive the shoes."
The actress also shared that the agency was asking her for proof of purchase when she has already informed them that they were gifts. Bela also questioned the agency on how they decide on the cost of a package.
She also called the phone calls she made to the agency "useless" as they did not assist her. Furthermore, the actress expressed her doubts regarding the fees they are asking her to pay.
"All the phone calls were useless and the shoes are in some warehouse right now collecting dust. I wanna know where they get these rates that they seem to pull out of thin air. This isn’t the first time. Our customs, always a rip-off."
In Bela's recent tweet regarding this matter, the Bureau of Customs reached out to the actress and apologized for the inconvenience. Bela responded that someone from the agency has already contacted her.
