Miss Thuzar Wint Lwin understood the kind of danger that she was in the moment that she decided to join the Miss Universe competition.

She revealed in a New York Times report that she had to wear a hoodie and glasses in order for her not to be recognized at the airport.
She was really very scared because she had to pass through immigration.
“I had to pass through immigration and I was so scared,” she said during an interview in Florida.
Fortunately, she made it through and although her luggage did not make it to Florida, she was supported by fellow candidates.
The pageant organizers also assisted Miss Myanmar and helped provide for her needs.

In another pageant, another representative from Myanmar, during the Miss Grand International 2020 swimwear competition suffered from a wardrobe malfunction. The wardrobe gaffe lasted for many seconds, which many saw because it was streamed live internationally. The candidate was wearing a two-piece emerald green swimwear, with the right side attached to the body with a fashionable strap. However, it appeared that the left portion of the swimwear was kind of loose and it did not fit the part perfectly.
A number of policemen in Myanmar stood their ground and refused their officers' orders to kill unarmed and peaceful demonstrators. Six fled to India after they did not obey the "shoot till they're dead" orders. One of the policemen who gave a statement to Reuters said that he was holding a submachine gun when he was ordered to shoot. He said that in such a scenario, he would not be able to shoot at their own people.
