A fire hits University of the East Manila Campus on Saturday morning reaching the eighth highest alarm.
As of 10am, the College of Arts and Sciences building of the school was ablaze. According to reports citing TXTFIRE Philippines, the fire started at 9:35am that quickly escalated to Task Force Charlie, which includes informing the director of the Bureau of Fire Protection and be involved in the operations.
FO3 Fatima Felix from the operations center of BFP-NCR said that around 23 fire trucks responded on the scene.
Based from photos from CNN Philippines, the fire already burned down the whole building, but no casualties has been reported. Fire has been declared under control and BFP assessed a total damage up to P22 million.
The incident happened a day after the Faculty Centre building of University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City hit by fire.
The Fire Prevention Month annually held in March just ended, but Philippines is currently experiencing humid weather due to summer season. Thus, everyone are advised to be mindful on possible causes of fire.
