“Meron pong times na nag-breakdown po ako and nawala nga po ako sa sarili dahil sunod-sunod yung nangyayari din sa business ko,” Sibayan narrated.

She also said that among the items she tried to sell in the past included pre-loved clothes, chili garlic oil, and cosmetics.

Sibayan recalled that she was a “bad influence” when she was still a teenager. There were even instances when even her own parents would report her to the police. She would drink liquor and wouldn’t be able to go home for days.

The Pinay online seller also recalled that at school, she was an “outcast,” prompting her to search for something she could take pride in.

After encountering dozens of failures, Sibayan said she tried her hand at live online selling and that was where she found success.

She left an important advice for all, saying that what is important is the willingness to face challenges.

Online selling in the Philippines has been ongoing for many years now but it reached greater heights with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Online selling also gave rise to small forwarding companies, which grew exponentially later on because of the brisk activity in the online market.
