Sen. JV Ejercito took to Facebook and expressed his heartfelt thanks that President Rodrigo Duterte called and asked about the condition of his father, former President Erap Estrada.

Ejercito revealed that he was surprised and that the call really mattered to them as it somehow gives them more strength.
"Napakalaking bagay po ng pag tawag ninyo Mr. President sa akin para kamustahin ang aming ama.
Ang laking gulat ko po!
Nakakalakas din po ng loob sa gitna ng sitwasyon ng aming ama.
Salamat Sen. @SAPBongGo for the call!"
Erap Estrada was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he was noticeably having difficulty breathing.
He also suffered from pneumonia and his condition has worsened, prompting doctors to move him to the ICU.
The former president is now on a mechanical ventilator. His sons Jinggoy and Sen. Ejercito have appealed for prayers for him.

Former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada has been hospitalized due to complications from contracting COVID-19. In a previous post, his son, Jinggoy Estrada informed the public that his father has been transferred to the ICU for observation. Jinggoy posted another update on Erap's condition and revealed that his father has been placed on mechanical ventilation after his pneumonia worsened.
He has been given sedatives and transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) according to his son, former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada. Jinggoy Estrada has released a medical bulletin to give an update regarding his father's condition. According to the ex-senator, his father has been sedated to decrease his anxiety which might affect his heart. Jinggoy Estrada also mentioned that Joseph Estrada has been moved to the ICU for observation but is currently in a stable condition.
