The actress is wondering if the real confirmed cases might be higher considering there are many Filipinos who cannot afford to have a check-up or swab test.

She also lamented the fact that amid financial difficulties, there is a need to shell out money to undergo a swab test and if positive, there is also the question of hospitalization and other expenses.

“Hinang hina ka na... maglalabas ka pa sa bulsa mo ng pera, para ma swab. At malalaman mo, pasitib ka sa covid mami! Pano na pa ospital? Gamot? Mental care?! Yung vaccine ba aasahan pa namin sa inyo? D naman diba? KKB! Nakakaiyak. Ito ang emotional. #freemasstesting,” Angelica posted on Twitter.

Other celebrities also used social media to air their sentiments and concern.

In a one-word post laden with emotions, actress Gabbi Garcia made known her frustrations with those in charge. Reposting a photo of the news report showing the 15K+ surge, her caption read: “Anu na?”

The Department of Health reported that COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the country despite government efforts to control it. While the arrival of the vaccine from China and from WHO’s COVAX facility provided a glimmer of hope, reports of thousands of new infections kept pouring in, with the highest single-day surge so far at 15K+ on April 2. After almost a year, Filipinos became hopeful once again with the news that vaccines are almost ready with Pfizer as the foremost among them. However, hope dimmed again with the news about two people from the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK who received Pfizer's approved coronavirus vaccine falling ill and needed to be treated for serious allergic reactions.
