A basher commented on Instagram and pertained to Derek as "Ïnstant Tatay."
Such words are often used to refer to a guy who takes in a single mom and then accept her son as well.
The comment clearly did not sit well with Derek and quickly came to his girlfriend's defense.
"What is wrong with that?! Single moms are beautiful strong women!"

It can be noted that this isn't the first time that the actor came to the defense of Ellen. He would also defend his exes whenever anybody would malign, just like when a basher also made a rude comment against Andrea Torres before.
