Jessa Zaragosa gave her daughter Jayda the go signal in case the teenager wants to have a boyfriend.
The veteran singer also expressed her approval in case Darren Espanto courts Jayda and eventually becomes her boyfriend.

Jessa, in an interview with Vina Morales for her YouTube vlog, answered in the positive when asked if she would permit her only daughter Jayda to have a boyfriend. “Pwede na,” the ‘Phenomenal Diva’ said.
She also said that she would be able to accept it now as her daughter is turning 18. “Oo, matatanggap ko na. Oo, at saka mag-e-18 na siya. So puwede na at saka matured na mag-isip. Basta boyfriend lang, huwag asawa,” Jessa said.
Vina also asked her if she approves of Darren and what would she feel if the latter becomes the boyfriend of Jayda.
“Kung magustuhan niya si Darren, oo. Kung magustuhan niya si Darren, eh 'di okay,” the veteran singer said.
She then pointed out that her daughter and Darren are very close. “Sobrang close 'yung dalawa. Kahit hindi sila madalas nag-uusap, alam ko malalim ‘yong samahan nila. At saka nire-respeto nila ang isa’t isa,” Jessa added.
While Darren and Jayda did collaborate on the song “Sana Tayo Na” in 2020, the young singer did not mention if he plans to court her.
Recently, Darren sent a sunflower bouquet to Cassy Legaspi, the daughter of actress Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, on February 14.

Jessa Zaragoza, Richelle Ann Mallari Loyola-Avanzado in real life, is a Filipina singer, actress, and commercial model. She was born on January 31, 1979 and entered showbiz at a young age. She was already a GMA Network talent when she joined Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines in 1987. During the early 90s, Jessa became part of That’s Entertainment, and also appeared in comedy shows like Alabang Girls.
She later on became the “Phenomenal Diva” and “Jukebox Queen of the 90s.” Jessa married fellow singer Dingdong Avanzado and on June 1, 2003, they had a daughter they named Janelle Amanda, who is now better known as Jayda.

In an interview with Boy Abunda over a year ago, Jessa was asked about her marriage with husband Dingdong Avanzado. The veteran singer talked about the problems they faced before as a couple.
The Phenomenal Diva is also known for being very protective about her daughter, Jayda. Roughly a year ago, she took legal action against an online basher. According to the singer, making threats should not be taken as a joke and the person who did that to Jayda should be held accountable.
