Miss Jehza Huelar, the Miss Supranational 2018, and her husband PBA basketball star PJ Simon, welcomed their first child, Peter Jeidon Simon on March 1 at around 12:40 p.m. The proud beauty queen stated that her baby weighed 3.045 kgs.
In her Instagram post where she announced the birth of their firstborn, Jehza took to calling their first child a miracle baby.
The lengthy post also explained why the beauty queen considers the infant as a miracle baby.
Jehza revealed that she had a miscarriage last year. “If we try to look back, my pregnancy announcement happened last year during PJ’s birthday — as a surprise gift for him,” she narrated in the post.
She recalled that when she told PJ that she is with a child, she was already 7 months pregnant, which means the Davao City lass would have delivered the baby in January of 2021.
However, she said that destiny can sometimes challenge one’s faith. The beauty queen revealed that in mid-June, she was rushed to the hospital due to heavy bleeding.
“In my mind, I already knew what was about to transpire. And it happened. We lost our baby,” Jehza said.
While almost dazed with grief, Jehza said she and her husband “tried to move on” from the tragic event.
Her OB doctor also advised her to avoid getting pregnant within the next three months after her miscarriage to increase the chances of success of her next pregnancy.
When she had her final checkup to see if her uterus is clear, Jehza was told her period should be back to normal in four to six weeks. When two months have gone by and she did not get her period yet, she went back to her doctor to have a checkup.
“And the answered prayer was there. GOD HAS HEARD. I am pregnant again — unexpectedly!” the beauty queen said happily. She called her baby with PJ as a “miracle, rainbow baby,” and “a very valuable gift from God,” Jehza said.
