Kuya Kim Atienza went viral yesterday after calling out Lazada for an ad that seems to advertise a product for date rape.
KAMI learned that due to Kuya Kim’s post, some netizens claimed that the inappropriate ad only appeared on his screen due to the algorithm – which implies that the ad popped up because he was supposedly searching for inappropriate topics.

In his brand new post, Kuya Kim said that the point of his original post is not about the algorithm or why the ad popped up on his social media account.
He clarified that the real point is that there is an ad on Lazada for a product for date rape and that it is dangerous. According to him, he is sensitive about this issue because he wants to protect his two teenage daughters.
The popular host also thanked The Philippine Star for making an article about his plea.

“Thank you for getting the point Philippine Star. A lot has been said about the the algorithm, why the ad pops out on my screen, or my oversensitivity to modern marketing, I am not a Saint and have seen quite a lot in my 54 years but to advertise a product for date rape, as the picture suggests is totally unacceptable. I have 2 teenage girls that I watch out for. Salamat Philippine Star,” Kuya Kim posted on Facebook.

Kuya Kim Atienza also addressed the concerns of his family, friends, and followers about his health. Their concern was caused by the fake news that he got shot by armed burglars in his home. The fake reports even showed a supposed screenshot of the CCTV footage of the shooting incident as well as a supposed photo of Kuya Kim in the hospital. The Kapamilya star explained that there should be no cause for concern because he is very much alive and working as one of the segment hosts on TV Patrol.
