Raymond Gutierrez’s celebration of his 37th birthday at the Spanish restaurant La Picara in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City has become controversial.

KAMI learned that netizens accused Raymond and the birthday guests of violating COVID-19 safety protocols by not wearing masks, face shields and by not practicing social distancing.
For this reason, Taguig City officials ordered the closure of the said restaurant after the party was held there.

Taguig Congresswoman Lani Cayetano released a statement about the closure, saying that she supports the shutdown for the sake of protecting public health.
She also urged influencers to be more responsible and to set a good example to their followers.
As for the argument that the birthday celebrant and his guests tested negative for COVID-19, Cong. Lani said that testing negative for COVID-19 is not an excuse to violate the protocols since those who tested negative might get infected hours or days after the test was conducted.
There is also a possibility that some of the guests were already infected at the time they were tested but the results were negative because the virus was still in its incubation period, according to the congresswoman.
Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano also supported the temporary closure of the restaurant after Raymond’s party was held there.
