Young Dexter Panis, made a sincere post online, appealing for anyone who has an unused bicycle, which they could buy for P1,000 as it is the amount that they have saved carrying rocks.
"Hello po, ako po si Dexter, taga Taytay, Rizal. pangarap po ng pinsan ko at ako na magkabike ngayong pasko. May naipon na po kami na 1000 sa pagbubuhat ng mga bato sa construction. Palapag na lang po sa comments kung may bike po kayo na di na nagagamit, or pwede ibenta samin an P1000. Thank you po!"
The appeal was so heartfelt that it touched the heart of one netizen, Manjit.
He gave the two kids brand new bicycles and they were simply so happy. They wished that God would bless him more.
Filipino resilience is evident in times of crisis. Many have shown that they can make it through a pandemic. Filipinos abroad have also shown this kind of resiliency. This old man clearly showed this trait. He still tried his best to ensure that he would have a teeny bit of income in order to survive the pandemic.
One very good example of Filipino resilience is how people looked for ways and means to live after they lost their jobs because of unexpected circumstances. For instance, a stewardess turned to online selling when she lost her job. She showed that there would always be a way.
Artists, like Gladys Guevarra, also put her skills in making Filipino delicacies to good use. A decent income from selling food will go a long way. Another artist who also turned to online selling is Gloc-9.
