Gretchen Ho was able to complete her #DonateABikeSaveAJob project after she gave away the last 100 bikes to different women.
The TV host was able to hit her target of giving away 1,000 bikes to people who are affected by the pandemic in just a span of a few months.
Based on Gretchen’s post on Instagram, the last batch of the bikes they gave away was special to her.
“This batch is special to me. We were able to put 100 women on bikes to complete our target of 1,000 bikes for #DonateABikeSaveAJob.”
The last batch of donated bikes was distributed at the Ayala Circuit Mall, which is popular for bike-friendly parking slots and restaurants.
The Kapamilya celebrity said that her project was able to provide bikes to various kinds of people, including individuals who have been affected by the recent typhoons.
“We were able to provide bikes for mothers, nurses, janitresses, security guards, frontliners, caregivers, and some who have just started their own businesses. Pati mga naapektuhan ng bagyo, meron din kaming napili at nabigyan,”
The athlete also highlighted why bikes are important during the current health crisis. She said that they can help individuals avoid getting infected by the coronavirus.
Moreover, Gretchen explained that bikes can be help families cut expenses and save money.
“Mababawasan ang pagod sa paglalakad, at mas madidiskartehan ang pagnenegosyo. Menos gastos din, dahil ang pera na pang-komyut, pwedeng itabi na lang para sa mga gastusin sa bahay,”
The #DonateABikeSaveAJob has attracted the attention of other celebrities. For this reason, several personalities, like Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, and Catriona Gray, joined the advocacy.
Gretchen Ho is a former volleyball player for the Ateneo Lady Eagles. Currently, she is a television presenter, and is one of the hosts of “Umagang Kay Ganda”. She has her own online platform, “Woman in Action”.
It was four months ago that Gretchen’s bike advocacy started. It made some noise, and many netizens praise her for the initiative. In a previous report by KAMI, Piolo Pascual donated 200 bikes to Gretchen’s project.
