In the Philippines, various malls and stores have now opened their doors once again to the public.

Due to the ongoing threat of the pandemic across the globe, malls and stores have implemented various safety protocols including the usage of face masks and face shields as well as practicing proper social distancing.

However, KAMI learned that a local mall said to be located in Zamboanga has recently caught the attention of the Department of The Interior and Local Government (DILG).

In a video posted by Facebook user Bong Simbajon, security guards could be seen trying to control a huge crowd of mall-goers who are clearly not practicing social distancing.

The huge crowd of mall-goers could be seen trying to enter the store first despite the many attempts of the guards to control the crowd.

Following the release of the viral video, Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya has finally addressed the matter in an online interview.

According to the undersecretary, "We will investigate this incident. Mukhang, kung totoo yung video 'no, kasi we do not know exactly where it happened. Allegedly sa isang mall nga daw sa Mindanao.

"Unang una, mukhang mali yung galaw nung mga security guards. Kasi parang hindi pwedeng sa pintuan lang sila mag-control ng tao. Makikita natin sa mga madaming malls sa buong bansa, sa labas pa lang ang pila inaayos na kaagad ng guard."
