Rachel Peters, the Miss Universe Philippines titleholder in 2017, was able to earn praises on social media because of her recent heroic action.
KAMI learned that the prominent beauty queen unhesitatingly saved a man from drowning in the waters of Siruma, Camarines Sur.
The said information was shared by Governor Migz Villafuerte on his Instagram account. He also uploaded a photo of Rachel with the man that she rescued.
The young politician expressed how proud he is because of what his fiancée did to extend the life of a person she just met.
“So proud of my girl for saving this guy's life who got caught in a strong riptide earlier! Very close call,” he wrote.
“The ocean is a whole different world and learning surfing the right way, with the right people is the best way to know the ocean! Sige na papayagan na kita magsiargao ng magsiargao pa more babe,” he added.
A netizen named Christopher A. Dionisio also shared on Facebook some of the important details regarding the incident.
He stated that Rachel was warned about the strong waves during that time but she still decided to approach the man and help him.
“Hindi siya nagdalawang-isip na bumalik sa lineup para sagipin si Topheng kahit may mga pumipigil sa kanya. Nasa pampang na siya, paahon na…” the netizen said in Bikol dialect.
Rachel Peters is a prominent model and beauty queen in the Philippines. She represented the country in the Miss Universe 2017 where she landed in the top 10.
In November last year, she got engaged to her boyfriend Migz Villafuerte. They were supposed to get married this year, but the event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
